Return of the smudge

This was looking like a normal 'dot' painting until noah pulled out the smudgy 'rub' technique.

The cooler air

This was done in Stanthorpe. Inspired by the cooler air perhaps?

Scratch

Noah found one of his mum's pencil-crayons and used it in the middle of this piece. You can see a thinner brown line. He also made a bit of a dint in the paper with the other end of the pencil!

Ibid

Happy to see the classic scribble return, followed by some enthusiastic 'drumming'!

More drumming

Noah's fascination with banging the crayons on the paper continues...

Pulling teeth

Noah was a lot more interested in stacking the crayons on the paper today. He did manage to make a few marks...

Drummer boy

Things were looking normal until Noah grabbed a purple crayon in one hand and a red one in the other and 'drummed' on the paper.

Tread lightly

This took quite a while because after every pink stroke Noah would run into the kitchen and show mum the new bits. There's a lot of 'noise' in this one, no 'rolling' today, but plenty of crayon stacking on the paper!

Minimalist 2.0

A little bit of 'rolling' and a dash of black scribble...

Without a colour in between

Noah's mum was very impressed with the matching colours used today...

Rolled with a twist

Noah revisited the 'rolling' technique today and teamed it with one of his trademark last-minute flourishes.

Zs

It's like a hundred pink and purple Zs...

Rolled - SOLD

Noah discovered when you roll the crayons on the paper they leave interesting smudges...Is this the beginning of Noah's Impressionist period?

This picture was bought by Noah's Aunty Lyndall as part of a monthly series (she owns all the paintings done on the 6th)

BLACK!

Somebody went a little bit goth today!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Little, then big

The little dots and squiggles and intricate lines were done first, and took a long time. The purple and red scribbles were done at the last minute.

Return of the purple

Noah is still quite fond of red and orange. They were the first two crayons he picked up today. But the we were treated to a purple flourish, including two hard marks on the left, and before he finished he sneezed all over it.

Natural progression

Red replaces orange today - similar themes, but more colours today. And some dramatic purple lines. Today's picture was accompanied with lion type 'growls' when the big strong lines were drawn.

Almost solo...

Some wild and crazy orange action today. Just when we thought this would be the first solo colour piece, Noah reached for the blue and gave one quick flourish.
